I totally agree with you; why not the business-minded approach where lower prices would mean more people instead of raising prices and hoping that those who will afford will always keep on coming? The strategy is totally all wrong! More people also means more money spent at the concession stand.Abena Serwaahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05888021677219851484noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11894178.post-85891946625225599852010-01-18T10:17:45.010+00:002010-01-18T10:17:45.010+00:00I'm glad I'm not the only one outraged wit...I'm glad I'm not the only one outraged with the ticket price increase. We went to see Avatar, me and 3 kids, and I handed over my GHC 40 and was waiting for change and was astounded when the cashier demanded more money. I nearly freaked out at the counter, and would have just turned away and gone home if I didn't have 3 kids looking as pitiful as they did.

Apparently, there's no business-minded individual who works at Silverbird and thinks, "Aha! I guess I paid for every D (@ $1 a piece?) but anyway. This was an exception though. If it was going to cost me $15 for every time I go to the movies, then I will NOT be going to the movies. I'll just stay home and wait for it to come on DVD.

But AVATAR was good. LONG, but good. It did drag a bit in the beginning but overall a good movie. Those sexy heels would impress my boyfriend and make every man for miles around envious of him. That would, in turn, make my man feel good and trust me, the benefits of having my man happy far outweigh the benefits of sitting down to watch one movie that I could simply watch for free or cheaper elsewhere.

It seems Ghana is all about treating VIPs. Once in a while or when someone is treating is fine but I will be boycotting the place for the longest time. This is a huge mistake. The economy is down and they're raising prices. Another case of James Cameron spending too much time on CGI and not enough time on the plot.

For your entertainment, I have links to a few mixtapes that may be of interest to you. First is African Swim--a mixtape from Adult Swim on the Cartoon Network. I know that sounds sketchy, but they actually produce decent mixtapes. I haven't heard this one yet though. Secondly, and more recently, is the J. Period and K'naan mixtape. I haven't gotten through the whole thing, but it's an interesting listen so far and K'naan tells engaging stories from his life. Lastly, and hot off the virtual presses, is the J. Period and N'neka mixtape. I just downloaded this, but if it's as strong as her single "Heartbeat," it'll be a really good mixtape. I'm afraid I don't know if any of the artists are Ghanian, but I'm guessing Nigeria is being represented big time. To me, 15 GHC is way too expensive, even the 10 GHC was a stretch.
